According to our sources, Airtel is working on a hybrid DTH STB, which is said to provide online surfing and DTH service over Wi-Fi or maybe via Fiber cable. As we already know that Airtel is aggressively rolling out their V-Fiber Internet service to every corner of the country and this might well help the DTH service as well.

It is also said that Airtel is making this move especially because of the continuous growth in online content in India and this device could revolutionize the entire Indian telecom sector.

Our sources claim that Airtel is closely in discussion with leading global content providers to bundle the content services with this upcoming DTH service. There were some rumors in the past as well regarding Airtel in talks with Netflix for a potential content tie-up, and this might be the outcome of those discussions.

Airtel has already reached the final testing and design of the product, which means that the launch will take place in the near future. Currently, Airtel is enjoying 12.5 million customers for its DTH services and is one of the leading players in the market.

Jio has really already changed the TV viewing experience in India!! This is totally Jio effect, that Airtel has been copying and doing all this to try to be in competition, this is purely an example how a big player(Jio) pushes the competition and others follow!!!

Airtel was having DTH(IP TV service) along with broadband (https://telecomtalk.info/airtel-iptv-free-migration-dth/156206/)but it failed miserably and they were forcrd to stop that, now they want to start again as Jio is starting same along with JIo fibre in near future

See how one company (Jio) is changing the way things work in India. This has always been missing from our country. (A big player that pushes the competition)

Companies like Airtel were always capable of doing such things but they do it now for their survival. Indian business play very safe game, they do the things when they really have to.

Airtel satisfied customers 2%, Jio satisfied customers 90%. Airtel 3G/4G sucks. Jio 4G is 10 times better than Airtel.
