Airtel Digital TV Allowing Subscribers to Select New Channel Plans via Set-Top Box

In sync with the new Trai mandate, Airtel Digital TV has already listed out channel packs and pricing. The subscribers of Airtel Digital TV have also started migrating to the new Trai based plans as the deadline for the same is approaching and the regulator has even warned that the people who do not migrate to these plans before February 1st might face disruption in their services. The new pricing regime by Trai gives more power to the consumer to make choices about the channels which they want to watch, thus allowing them to be nit-picky about the channels they subscribe. Also, the subscribers will only be charged for the channels which they have in their pack and nothing more at all. To help their subscribers, Airtel Digital TV has even put out a small guide so that it is easy for them to complete the migration process.

Selecting Airtel Digital TV Recommended Plans

Airtel Digital TV will be offering two options to its subscribers. The consumers can either choose the best value packs curated by Airtel Digital TV, or they can fully customise their offerings as per their own choice. The subscribers will be able to make the selection using their remote and select their best value packs and move ahead with the migration process. Once the subscriber selects their recommended plan, then a code will be displayed on their screen which they will need to send at 54325 through their mobile. Alternatively, they will also be able to scan a QR code. Once a subscriber sends the SMS, their request for plan change will be registered by Airtel Digital TV, and the new pack will be active on February 1st, 2019. When the subscribers decide to go via the recommended plans method, they will be able to choose the channel packs and view which channels they will be getting under a particular banner.

Selecting Customised Plans via Broadcaster Bouquet and Free Channels

In case they decide to curate their custom plan by choosing channels on their own then they will get options for adding broadcaster bouquet or a-la-carte channels. For example, the subscriber can click on Star TV and see all the channel packs that Star TV offers, and thus make their individual selection. Similarly, they can select genres like Hindi entertainment, music, kids, Sports, English, Marathi, Malayalam, Infotainment and more via their STB remote and click ok to view the channels being offered under that particular genre. By navigating upwards and downwards, and making their selection of the channels, the subscriber can finish curating his custom plan. After completing this process, they will get a code on the screen along with a QR code which the user will have to SMS at 54325 similar to the way mentioned above.

Subscribers of Airtel Digital TV will also be able to check the cost summary of their total bill by pressing the blue button. The cost summary on the screen will display the entire breakdown of the total bill of your channels along with the taxes and Network Capacity Fees.
