Airtel Business, the B2B arm of Bharti Airtel, has partnered with global cloud security company Zscaler to introduce 'Airtel Secure Digital Internet,' which the company claims is India's first fully-managed Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)-based cybersecurity solution. This new offering is designed to protect enterprises from a wide range of cyber threats, Airtel Business said on Monday.

Zero Trust Architecture Solution

The solution integrates Airtel's Internet Leased Line (ILL) connectivity with Zscaler’s cloud security technologies, including Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Security Service Edge (SSE). It provides comprehensive features such as threat protection, SSL inspection, cloud firewall, and secure access to cloud applications.

Built on the core principle of "never trust, always verify the user, device, and network" approach, the service ensures that every interaction is authenticated and authorised, reducing the attack surface for businesses, Airtel Business said.

Commenting on the launch, Airtel Business said, "The cutting-edge solution will ensure that every internet interaction is rigorously verified, authenticated and authorised to deliver a robust layer of security that protects enterprises from evolving cyber threats. Together with Zscaler, we will offer a seamless and secure experience for businesses across India, enabling them to operate with confidence in today’s complex digital environment."

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Airtel Business to create a solution to help the growing needs of our customer base," said Area Vice President of India and SAARC at Zscaler. "The inception of this joint solution stemmed from the market needs and growing demand and we are looking forward to helping our customers in their cloud security transformation journeys together with Airtel."

Market Need for Enhanced Cybersecurity

According to the official release, India, one of the world's most targeted markets for cyberattacks, experienced over 79 million phishing attempts and 5 billion encrypted attacks last year, underscoring the increasing need for enhanced cybersecurity.

The Zero Trust Architecture of Airtel Secure Digital Internet offers enterprises with scalable, cost-efficient security while centralising policy management and eliminating the need for expensive hardware, Airtel said.

Key Benefits for Businesses

To further optimise network performance and minimise latency, Airtel said it has also enhanced its Internet Points of Presence (PoPs) through the integration of Zscaler's advanced security stack.

Businesses can opt for the service as a standalone Zscaler SSE solution, bundled with Airtel's managed services, tailored to their specific needs.
