Airtel appoints Ashok Ganapathy as Director of Airtel Business

Bharti Airtel has announced Ashok Ganapathy as its Director – Airtel Business. His appointment will be effective from July 1, 2016. Mr. Ganapathy will be mainly focusing on Airtel’s B2B business, which includes the accounts that serve corporations, government entities and other corporates with end-to-end solutions. He is taking charge of the new responsibilities from Manish Prakash, who has now become the Director of Strategic Alliances. Mr. Ganapathy will be reporting to Gopal Vittal, CEO and Managing Director (India & South Asia), Airtel.

Welcoming Mr. Ganapathy to the organization, Gopal Vittal said, “I am delighted at the appointment of Ashok to lead Airtel Business, which is a key contributor to our growth. I am confident that his diverse experience will bring immense value to the portfolio that Manish has successfully built. I wish both Ashok and Manish the very best for their new roles.”

With more than 26 years of experience across FMCG, Retail, Entertainment and Telecom sectors, Mr. Ganapathy joined Airtel in 2013. His initial appointment was as the Hub CEO for Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa and Gujarat circles. He is a B. Tech from IIT, Madras and completed his MBA from IIM – Ahmedabad. He started his career with Hindustan Unilever in 1990 as a Management Trainee.
