Reliance Jio announced Q3 FY25 results in January 2025. Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi), two listed telecom operators are also soon going to announce the quarterly and nine-month reports for FY25 very soon. Bharti Airtel has set the date for results announcement - February 6, 2025. Airtel's analyst call will take place on Feb 7, 2025. Vodafone Idea will follow with the results on Feb 11, 2025. Vi's analyst call would likely be then the next day, i.e., on Feb 12, 2025.

Airtel is expected to post robust growth in ARPU (average revenue per user) from mobile services. The telco raised prices for prepaid consumers in the the second quarter of FY25. The effect is expected to take place for the next several quarters, and a huge chunk of impact will come in Q3 and Q4 of FY25.
As for Vodafone Idea (Vi), ARPU growth is expected here too, but the key figure would be the churn rate and the 4G susbcriber expansion. Vi's management's comments on fundraising via debt will also be crucial to follow up on. For Vi, a decline in subscriber base is expected going by the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) data.

It will be interesting to see the kind of impact the tariff hike had on Airtel's subscriber base in Q3 FY25. In November 2025, Airtel and Vi both lost wireless users. Data for December has not been released by TRAI yet.
