Airtel offers gift hamper and Vodafone Announces Bonus Data for Women on International women’s day

On the eve of International Women’s day, India’s top two telecom operators, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India announces gifts for the women under their respective circles. Bharti Airtel, as a small token of appreciation, is giving a customized gift hamper for all the women distributors of Airtel in the country and Vodafone India is giving away 2GB of data for women under the Red Postpaid subscribers in the area of Delhi-NCR.

Airtel in its release stated as “Distributors play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations for Bharti Airtel’s vast national retail channel that serves hundreds of millions of customers and keep them connected. Dealers are responsible for taking the products and services of telecom operators to the market.”

“Airtel has around 300 women distributors who service close to 40,000 retailers, as a part of its Anmol Ratna program. Telecom is a fast-paced industry that has traditionally been dominated by male distributors and retailers. These women distributors for Airtel have managed to create their space and today run successful businesses that are at par or exceed any other top distributor in the country.” claims Airtel.

The gift package will include personalized letter from the Circle CEO, a book – 30 women in power, their voices, their stories, authored by Naina Lal Kidwai, a personal care kit and a compilation of inspiring stories of these women distributors.

Mr. Ajai Puri, Director – Market Operations, Bharti Airtel said, “This is a small gesture from Airtel for all our Women distributors, who are making a very positive contribution to our business. As a company that is committed to gender diversity across its operations, we continuously encourage diversity across employees and our retail network as well.”

On the other hand, Vodafone India, the country’ second largest telecom network is celebrating the International women’s day by giving away 2GB data to all its women Red Postpaid subscribers in Delhi-NCR region. This day long offer comes with no restrictions on the 2GB data usage and the data benefit will be automatically credited to the user’s account and notified through an SMS. With this offer women customers will be able to browse the internet, shop online, watch their favorite videos & movies online, connect with near & dear ones through video chat and lots more.

This exclusive gift from Vodafone is part of its #ConnectedSheCan campaign which aims at encouraging women to get digitally connected. This offer is a part of the many initiatives by Vodafone to provide women access to information and help them experience the benefits of going digital. Research suggests that better connectivity helps communities and individuals leverage network access to bring about positive change. It also helps in obtaining high levels of health, education, economic growth and other socio-economic indicators.

Speaking about the offer and women empowerment, Alok Verma Business Head, Delhi-NCR, Vodafone India avers “We as an organization firmly believe in giving equal opportunities to women in the work space, and this value system reflects in our work culture. Our data analytics have suggested that our women customers are as avid mobile Internet users as our male customers. This offer reiterates our efforts to enable women to do more and achieve more in life. I urge all our women Red Post-Paid customers to experience the digital life on our network.”

“Vodafone has always endeavored to contribute towards women’s empowerment and is celebrating International Women’s Day from March 6th to 10th, 2017. The week-long series will have some exciting events lined up.” he further added.

I’m a Vodafone postpaid RED subscriber in MUMBAI!! Why am I not getting the benefit then?? Just cause I don’t live in Delhi? That’s pretty unfair! Atleast other subscribers are doing a better job of providing subsidised data to all and not coming up with vague marketing ideas to promote their brand on Women’s Day!!!
