Aircel also launched RC 61 which offers a host of benefits in voice calling with local Aircel to Aircel calls at just ten paise per minute and Aircel to Others Local and STD calls at just 30 paise per minute. The validity of the product is 60 days and is available to recharge online and at retail stores as well.

However, do make a note that these offerings are only for the users of Kolkata and Aircel did not reveal any information on when the packs to be made available outside Kolkata. But, with these offers, Aircel has stepped into the bandwagon of offering cheapest data plans ever.

Speaking at the launch of these plans, Anil Gupta, Regional Manager- East, Aircel, said, “Aircel aims to delight its customers with exciting gamut of products that offer them benefits of affordable calling and unlimited data. We always strive to decipher the needs of our customers and understand the finer nuances of their mobile experience and make their experience with Aircel enriching.RC36, 67 and RC61 are designed for a wide spectrum of users, who want to enjoy seamless calling and also stay connected online at an affordable cost.”

Besides offering the best and most affordable internet plans in the industry, everything is not going well for the telecom company. According to the COAI data for the month of January 2017, Aircel managed to add just above 1,50,000 new subscribers under their belt, which is underwhelming when compared to incumbent operators such as Airtel, Vodafone, and Idea Cellular.
