AI can help you be more productive at work, Says Microsoft CEO: Report

Satya Nadella has said that AI can help people boost their productivity right now. During a virtual appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival 2024 last week, the Microsoft CEO mentioned that AI could help take on roles, even those involving decision-making, across sectors such as healthcare, finance, and other domains in the long run.

"I don’t need to see more evidence to know that this is working and will make a real difference," CNBC Make It quoted him as saying.

India: Prime Destination for AI Talent, Says Nasscom Chief, According to Report

Nasscom's new chairperson, Sindhu Gangadharan, highlights India's leadership in AI talent and domain skills, asserting that this is "the best time to be in India," particularly for those in the technology sector, according to a PTI report from Sep 29. Citing the transformative impact of AI, she said India will continue to be the place where companies look for "talent that helps them go through such transformations".

India is Leading GenAI Adoption, Says Meta CPO: Report

India is “leading GenAI adoption” and is already the largest market for the Meta AI personal assistant, which has 400 million users globally, Meta Platforms' global chief product officer, Chris Cox, told ET. Meta also released its smallest ever models-1 billion and 3 billion parameters in size—that can run on edge and mobile devices without the need to send data to the cloud.

At the Meta Connect event, the company showcased Meta AI’s multimodal voice and vision support. Meta AI is on track to being the most used AI assistant by the end of this year, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said while unveiling the voice mode.

HP Leverages Generative AI to Lead Future Work Solutions: Report

HP is leveraging GenAI to evolve from a hardware company into a work solutions provider, enabling AI model development through its AI Studio platform. "We don’t see ourselves as a hardware company going forward," Alex Cho, president of the personal systems business at HP, told media persons on the sidelines of the HP Imagine event, ET reported on Sept 27. HP also unveiled a solution to share AI compute capacity by enabling the sharing of GPU resources among HP workstations.

Supply, Not Demand, is the Challenge Says Oracle CEO: Report

India will play a major role in Oracle’s AI infusion journey, chief executive Safra Catz told ET in a virtual interview. "My biggest worry is not a lack of demand. My biggest worry is making sure I have the supply to support the expansions. It's only the beginning for India moving to the cloud. Around the world, too, it is still just the beginning. I don’t know what percentage has moved to the cloud, but eight times that still hasn't," said Safra Catz, ET reported on Sept 24.
