ACT Fibernet and Government of Karnataka to Provide High-Speed Broadband Connectivity to Startups

Internet Service Provider ACT Fibernet today said that it has entered into an agreement with the Government of Karnataka to provide the startups registered with the start-up cell programme with high-speed broadband connectivity. For the unaware, the Karnataka government has created a new start-up initiative to bring all the startups in the state under one roof with start-up cell initiative. This association will also result in the growth of ACT Fibernet, and at the same time, being a Bengaluru-based startup, the company supports the state government’s startup initiative.

ACT Fibernet- Karnataka State Government: Association Details

As part of this association, ACT Fibernet or Atria Convergence Technologies Limited will provide high-speed wired broadband connectivity to startups registered in the start-up cell programme. “To support the Karnataka government’s startup initiative, ACT Fibernet will extend its best fibre optic technology to all the registered startups of the government’s startup cell,” said the ISP in a press release.

Furthermore, ACT Fibernet will provide complimentary broadband connectivity to government incubation centre and Giga speed (1 Gbps) connections at a 60% discounted rate to all the registered startups. To recall, ACT Fibernet launched its 1 Gbps ACT Giga broadband plan in Bengaluru city earlier this year at a price of Rs 5,999. It will be now easier for the company to provide 1 Gbps connection across the state.

Speaking on the partnership, K. J. George, Hon’ble Minister for IT and BT, Science and Technology, Govt. Of Karnataka added, “Bengaluru is the startup capital of India, and we have been strongly nurturing the startup ecosystem with policies and initiatives to help entrepreneurs and established industries flourish. I am extremely pleased that ACT Fibernet has come forward to extend their support and connect our startups with high-speed broadband connectivity. This move will certainly help us build a more conducive environment for our startups to grow.”

What Does This Association Mean to ACT Fibernet?

ACT Fibernet is a Bengaluru-based startup and it’s currently the country’s largest fibre-focused wired broadband ISP. This association will help the company grow its user base in the state. Even though it’s a start-up based out of Bengaluru, ACT Fibernet has a strong foothold in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana state with the leading player in Hyderabad city.

“As a Bengaluru based company, it is a moment of pride for us to collaborate with the Government of Karnataka. This is a one of a kind opportunity and we will work in conjunction with the government towards building and strengthening the start-up ecosystem in the city. It is our commitment to provide the best internet services to the startups and incubators and help them stay connected seamlessly.” said Mr Bala Malladi, CEO, ACT Fibernet.

Furthermore, Bengaluru holds the top position in the country when we speak about startups and this move will surely benefit ACT Fibernet and Karnataka State Government alike.

It’s a Shame that govt is endorsing private ISP rather than some state owned fiber network or BSNL.

One of the Top Internet Provider and very soon it will become legacy and I am sure ACT is going to fall down due to their pathetic service and irresponsible behaviour of their officers for customer complaints. One should ask Bala Malladi what is the role of appealate authority and nodal office when they dont even respond to customer complaints even after 45 days and should ask him to reveal number of complaints that are raised on a day and resolved on day. I am sure number of tickets will be close 50k to 1L and tickets resolved would be… Read more »

Agree, ACT is not very active in support and their team often lie about problems and sometimes even close the ticket before solving the problem. I am Not sure what your nature of issue is and why it is not resolved. I am from Bangalore and luckily for me i have seen ACT solves all my problems (small and big), though not immediately but within acceptable window. I have never had a Internet downtime of more that 24 hours, and most issues will be resolved within 6 hours of reporting the problem, which is okay for me.

Luckily for me too, my ACT works without any issues till now. And they solve the issues within short span. But their plans are not attractive and for every city they have different plans 🙁
