Acer Swift 5 Laptop Weighing 970 Grams and Windows 10 Platform Launched at Rs 79,999

Acer, one of the largest PC brand in the world today unveiled the Acer Swift 5 ultra-thin and lightweight laptop in the Indian market. The Swift 5 model features 8th Gen Intel Core processors, metal body, thin bezels around the display, 970grams weight and various other features. Acer says that the Swift 5 is one of the lightest laptops in the world at 970grams. The price of the Acer Swift 5 will be available at a starting price of Rs 79,999 across Acer Exclusive stores and other leading retail stores.

Besides the 970grams weight, the Swift 5 is also one of the thinnest laptops at 14.5mm thickness. The laptop is crafted out of magnesium-lithium alloys for the top and bottom cover, and magnesium-aluminium alloys for extra sturdiness on the palm rest area. Another highlight feature mentioned by Acer is narrow bezels around the display, which reduces the overall footprint of the laptop.

The Acer Swift 5 features a 14-inch Full HD display. However, thanks to those narrow bezels, the overall footprint of the laptop is similar to that of a 13-inch Notebook. Acer has also added its Acer Colour Intelligence technology that optimises the screen colour, brightness and saturation resulting in much vivid and brilliant colours letting users enjoy movies and video content.

It also features Acer TrueHarmony sound boost technology with Dolby Audio for powerful and clear audio. Furthermore, Acer says that the laptop is Skype for Business certified one, meaning users can easily carry out conference video calls along with Microsoft digital assistant Cortana.

Talking about the hardware of the Swift 5, it comes powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processors, coupled with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Acer promises a battery backup of eight hours with this laptop as it comes with a 2-cell 4670 mAh Li-ion battery.

Connectivity options include 2x2 802.11ac Wi-Fi and ports on the laptop include one two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, two USB 3.0 ports and one HDMI output port. It comes preinstalled with Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU to take care of the graphic-intensive tasks. There's a 720p front-facing camera for video calls, and it also comes with a digital microphone.

The Swift 5 features a backlit keyboard, and the touchpad is present just below the keyboard. As usual, it comes preloaded with Windows 10 platform, and Acer has also added a fingerprint reader to the Swift to provide additional security to the users. Furthermore, with the Windows Hello feature, users can log into the system with a touch of the finger.

In other countries, the Acer Swift 5 is available in four different models, but for now, Acer seems to have brought only one model to India as other model details are yet to be made available.
