MTNL Launches FTTH Broadband Services In Mumbai

India's 2nd largest Broadband Service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) today announced the launch Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) triple play High Speed Broadband service with core network speed up to 1 Gbps in Mumbai circle.

Mr. A. K. Garg, Chairman and Manging Director (CMD) MTNL and Mr. Peeyush Agrawal, Executive Director MTNL Mumbai launched this high speed FTTH (Fiber to the Home) Broadband service today at an event in Mumbai.




Initially the FTTH Broadband service will be available in more than 100 buildings and commercial complexes in south Mumbai and will be business strategically expanded in phased manner to across the city.

This service will be commercially available to the end user in next few days (Within this Month).

On this occasion Mr A.K. Garg, CMD, MTNL, said 'We believe MTNL FTTH would give subscribers limitless possibilities by searving the requirements of high speed bandwidth applications and this would revolutionize the way subscribers work, live and play. It will Triple play(voice-video-data) services like IPTV, HDTV, 3DTV, video on demand , Bandwidth on Demand, Instant Video conferencing , interactive gaming  and several other VAS which can be only possible through FTTH.

This technology uses optic fiber technology which can deliver world class Triple Play experience to the consumers the FTTH service relies on a Self-Healing Network,which is able to provide seamless triple play service, even in case of damaged of the optical fibre, the information will be re-routed through another line.
