CtrlS Datacenters, Asia’s largest Rated-4 Data Center operator, is collaborating with National Telecom Public Company (NT), a Thai state-owned telecommunications company, for the establishment of a hyperscale data centre in Chonburi, Thailand. The project will offer colocation, network connectivity, and cloud services, taking advantage of the centre’s location in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and its connectivity to international submarine cable systems.

Hyperscale Data Center
According to the statement, CtrlS is building a hyperscale data centre on a 10-acre parcel of land in Chonburi, with a design capacity of up to 150 MW. This expansion marks CtrlS’ first international market venture and its first hyperscale data centre in Thailand.
Strategic Location
The data centre’s location in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is advantageous due to its proximity to submarine cable landing stations (CLS) for existing and upcoming international cable systems, such as the Asia-America Gateway (AAG) and Asia Direct Cable (ADC), to be launched in the first quarter of 2024. This location positions the data centre as a point of interconnection with strong connectivity to other data centres, industrial estates, and global markets.

Convergence of Services
The collaboration between CtrlS and NT involves a convergence of services known as the Convergence of DCT (Data centre, CLS and Terrestrial). This includes data centre colocation, cable landing station services, network connectivity, and cloud-based services.
