The state-led telecom operator, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), has announced a new partnership with the South Asian OTT content provider Yupp TV for providing triple play partnership for video and broadband services. With the entry of Reliance Jio in the broadband segment, with the launch of Reliance JioFiber, the broadband industry has become very competitive. As such, the broadband service providers of the country are ramping up their operations and providing new offers, and freebies to their customers. Being the largest broadband network of the country, BSNL is also in this league. The telecom operator now also boasts of a massive fibre network which is spread across the country to provide the Bharat Fiber service, BSNL’s own fibre broadband service. Now the next stage for BSNL is to start providing triple-play services to the users, similar to how Reliance Jio is planning to accomplish for its customers. BSNL will be doing it with the partnership of YuppTV.

BSNL Triple Play Plan to Feature Yupp TV Content

The triple play plan in the broadband industry was first popularised by Reliance Jio a few months back, when it started providing its preview offers to the customers. The telecom operator firstly introduced the triple-play plan for its employees and then started extending this offer to its first lot of customers. As the triple play name suggests, as part of these services, the customers are able to enjoy three services, billed under a single bill. These three services usually include cable TV, landline and broadband. Similar to how Reliance Jio is doing for its customers with the help of Hathway and DEN Networks, the state-led telecom operator will be doing it with Yupp TV. As noted by the new release from BSNL, Yupp TV boasts of more than ten years of expertise in streaming Live and VOD content to the wide-ranging audience across the globe with its innovative features. Yupp TV’s in-house end-to-end technology is robust, reliable and scalable.

About this new partnership, BSNL CMD, PK Purwar said, “As a pioneer in the OTT space for ten years, Yupp TV has been quick to evolve with the changing times, leveraging disruptive technology for providing superior digital and video entertainment products and services such as live streaming or catch-up TV or exclusive Originals. We are glad to associate with Yupp TV to provide an impressive value proposition for consumers in India”.

YuppTV Content to Offer Live TV, Video on Demand and More

YuppTV offers a library of content which includes live TV channels, movies, TV shows and Yupp TV originals. The brand has also partnered with renowned names from the South Indian film fraternity and has been one of the firsts to produce the biggest hits of Web Series, down South. The brand also boasts of producing 13 Southern Original Shows, which is the highest in the industry.

Mr Uday Reddy, Founder & CEO of Yupp TV, also remarked about this partnership with the largest broadband service provider of the country. He also added that in partnership with BSNL, YuppTV would work to provide "cutting-edge entertainment solution through simple yet effective and innovative technology."

Now it is crucial to note that while Reliance Jio would be taking help of cable TV networks to extend its triple-play functionality with the help of extensive last-mile connectivity of DEN Networks and Hathway, BSNL would be using YuppTV's resources at its disposal to extend the triple-play services.

Direct CFA of BSNL board, Mr Vivek Banzal informed that technical testing for the triple play services has already been done and these services would seamlessly function on a single fibre connection.
