Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) today launched its much awaited 3G mobile services at textile city Tirupur in the state of Tamilnadu. The next generation 3G services allow telecom service provider to offer Video calls, High-speed Internet with speed Up to 3.6 Mbps, High quality multimedia services and live MobileTV facility.
Mr. P. T. Mathew, PGM BSNL Coimbatore SSA stated “BSNL 3G Mobile service is now available to all postpaid and prepaid subscribers of Tirupur City and surrounding urban areas. To cater everyone in the next generation mobile service we installed 52 UMTS Base Trans-receiver Stations (BTS-Mobile Tower) to provide high quality 3G services across the Tirupur city in Coiambatore SSA. It includes five 3G BTS set up at Vanjipalayam, near Koolipalayam Railway gate, Semmandampalayam, Somanur exchange and K. Madhapur to provide seamless and uninterrupted 3G network connectivity in running trains."
As an introductory offer the new BSNL 3G subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage. Beyond free usage Local Voice and Video calls at just 30 Paisa per minute and All STD video calls will be chargeable at 50 paisa with the prepaid FRC120. BSNL 2G prepaid mobile subscribers can migrate to 3G service just by one SMS “"M3G120" to 53733 while for postpaid subscriber can send "M3G25" to 53733.
