The new service has been introduced in association with Shemaroo Entertainment Limited and it's aimed at offering unique and engaging content to the company's Punjabi viewers. Dish TV and D2h customers can activate this new value-added service from the company. For the unaware, Dish TV India has acquired with D2h to form the world's largest DTH company a couple of years ago. Dish TV says the new service allows customers to enjoy the complete Ad-Free and 24X7 ‘Punjabi Active’ Service packed with Movies, Shows, Short Plays and Songs.

Dish TV and D2h Customers Can Now Activate Punjabi Active Service

As noted, both Dish TV and D2h customers can activate this new Punjabi Active service at Rs 40 (excluding GST) per month. The new offering will be available for subscribers on Channel No. 1182 on Dish TV and Channel No. 776 on D2h. In the press statement, Dish TV India said that customers would be charged Rs 40+GST every month after the free preview period. The free preview period time was not revealed by the company, but we're expecting it to be seven days from the date of the first activation.

As for the benefits, the Punjabi Active service offers daily Gurbani, devotional songs and latest Punjabi pop songs along with telefilms. It will also premiere some of the popular movies out there in the market right now.

Commenting on the launch of ‘Punjabi Active Service’, Mr Anil Dua, Executive Director and Group CEO, Dish TV India Ltd added, “Dish TV India strongly believes that the best way to engage our subscribers is to provide a range of wholesome, exclusive and relevant content. We are glad to announce our partnership with Shemaroo to launch Punjabi Active service on both our platforms, DishTV and d2h. With this latest addition to our value-added service, we take the entertainment quotient a notch higher and allow subscribers to watch specially curated entertainment covering the latest Punjabi movies, shows, music and more in the comfort of their home."

Dish TV managed to introduce this service to the customers with the help of Shemaroo Entertainment Limited.

Dish TV Continues to Add New Subscribers Every Month

Dish TV is already the leading DTH operator in India and it continues to grow with every passing quarter. In the quarter that ended on March 31, 2019, Dish TV added a total of 47,000 new subscribers which increased its overall subscriber base. Alongside Dish TV, Tata Sky also added new users and its revenue was up by nearly 9%. Thanks to the new Trai tariff mandate, DTH operators are witnessing increased ARPU and the subscribers are also joining in a good number, unlike what analysts expected that they might switch to OTT platforms.
