Although Yahoo’s journey as a tech company has been a very unfortunate one, there is no denying that still millions of people use Yahoo’s emails for their day to day work. To extend support to these users and also to new consumers who are using Android for the first time, the USA-based company is rolling out a new app for Android Go alongside revamping its mobile web experience for the existing users. The company has rolled out a new stripped-down version of the Yahoo mail app, the Yahoo Mail Go. This app is less than 10MB in size and also goes easy on the RAM by utilising less than 50MB.

Despite being a lightweight app, the Go version of Yahoo Mail comes with all the important features of the original application. Adding up on that, the app is also built on the same architecture. There are many additional features like compatibility with third-party providers similar to Gmail and Outlook, support for search and attachments along with customisable swipe actions, themes, people notifications, animated GIFs. The app is also able to tell apart from general emails and the emails with coupons and travel details.

Although the Android Go version of the Yahoo Mail is available and live on the Google Play Store, it isn’t showing compatibility for Android Go devices like Nokia 1 presently, according to Android Police. However, it is expected to be up and running soon.

The next big change which Yahoo is bringing for its mobile phone users is the new web experience which the users will be able to see at mail.yahoo.com. This new design revamp will make the platform for mobile users more interactive and instant. The new web experience for phone users will encompass features like the infinite scroll for emails, a side menu with all the folders, quick actions for a chosen email, customisable swipe actions, multiple themes, suggestions for frequent contacts. Users will get to see a similar redesign on the mobile app which will resemble the experience on the web in both looks and features.
