Xiaomi, yesterday held the 2017 Annual Meeting for MIUI division in China to discuss last year's developments and the roadmap for 2018. At the meeting, Hong Feng, the co-founder and the VP of Xiaomi who is currently leading the MIUI division confirmed that the company has officially begun the development of MIUI 10, confirming that the next iteration of MIUI will be called as MIUI 10 and not MIUI X as rumoured earlier.

"The development for MIUI 10 officially starts today," said Hong Feng at the event. To recall, Xiaomi launched the MIUI 9 in July last year, but this year, the MIUI 10 is expected to come out earlier. In 2016, Xiaomi announced the MIUI 8 in May, and hopefully, they announce the MIUI 10 in May itself, rather than delaying it to July and begin the rollout in September.

Even though if Xiaomi announces the MIUI 10 in May, the stable ROM rollout will start in July or August as the company releases Beta ROM first.

At the moment, we're not sure about the features to be included the upcoming MIUI 10, but Hong Feng earlier confirmed that Xiaomi would be focusing more on Artificial Intelligence in the MIUI 10, much like how Honor did with the Honor View 10. Xiaomi is currently rolling out MIUI Global Stable ROM for its existing devices. The third batch of Xiaomi devices will receive the MIUI 9 Stable ROM in the next few days, and the list includes devices like Redmi 3s, Redmi 3s Prime, and Redmi Note 3.
