HMD Global may launch yet another variant of the Nokia 3310 feature phone, but this time, the company is rumoured to launch the much-asked 4G variant of the Nokia 3310. The Nokia 3310 4G variant is now certified by Chinese regulatory site TENAA, and the listing revealed a few images and LTE connectivity option for the feature phone. Recently, the same device received Bluetooth SIG certification as well.

In October 2017, the Nokia 3310 3G variant was launched with 3G connectivity and slight design improvements. The TENAA images of the Nokia 3310 4G variant revealed a similar design of the Nokia 3310 3G. Compared to the Nokia 3310 2G variant, 3G variant has a better spacing between keys and is around 13% larger than the former.

The 4G variant of the Nokia 3310 will come with Alibaba’s YunOS platform, and surprisingly, Alibaba already listed the upcoming feature phone with no pricing. The TENAA listing goes with a model number- TA-1077 and the connectivity options are displayed as TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA.

Talking about Alibaba's YunOS, it is an Android Open Source project for Android smartphones, but Alibaba might develop a different version of YunOS for feature phones. At the moment, it is unknown whether the Nokia 3310 4G will support WhatsApp or not, but running a forked version of Android might be an advantage. To be noted, YunOS doesn't have Google Play Services support.

Besides this, there are not many details available about the Nokia 3310 4G feature phone. Also, the launch date is unknown at the moment. HMD Global is also rumoured to launch the Nokia E71 (2018) QWERTY keypad 4G feature phone in early 2018.

Nokia may launch these devices over the course of 2018, but don't expect all of them at the rumoured January 19 launch event. Having said that, another Nokia phone, the Nokia 6 (2018) already received TENAA certification, hinting at an imminent launch. Are you excited about the Nokia 3310 4G variant?
