Xiaomi Shipped a Record 27.6 Million Smartphones Globally in Q3 2017, Recorded a 102.6% Growth YoY

Xiaomi India, earlier last month said that it shipped 9.2 million smartphones in Q3 2017. At the launch event of the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones yesterday in China, Xiaomi revealed that it shipped 27.6 million smartphones globally. Xiaomi quoted IDC as the source of this number. That said, out of 27.6 million unit shipments, Xiaomi India alone shipped 9.2 million devices, accounting for 40% of overall shipments.

Furthermore, Xiaomi is on-par with its goal of shipping 100 million smartphones in 2017. Xiaomi also reported an incredible 11-11 day in China back in November, which means that the company is on track to ship 100 million smartphones this year. Xiaomi also reported strong sales in Q1 2017 and Q2 2017.

There’s no denying that Xiaomi is having a great time in the market. No other manufacturer is offering such excellent products and cutthroat prices. Xiaomi recently said that it’s on the list of top five smartphone maker in 14 countries. And Xiaomi is the top smartphone brand in India, alongside South Korean brand Samsung.

With the increase in market share, the company is launching more and more products, and every product is a complete value-for-money one. Xiaomi India recently reported that it has turned profitable in just three years after starting the operations. Thanks to the seven-fold increase in sales, Xiaomi India reported 163.9 crore profit, along with overall sales of Rs 8,379.3 crores.

Just a year ago, Xiaomi’s revenue in India was Rs 1,046.2 crore, but riding on the strong sales of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi Redmi 4, and Xiaomi Redmi 4A, the Chinese company achieved 696% increase in overall sales in the last one year. Also, Xiaomi is expecting to achieve $2 billion revenue in 2018.
