Like it promised last month, OnePlus has rolled out a software update to the OnePlus 5T, which brings in a host of improvements to the camera. The latest update takes the device to OxygenOS 4.7.4, and it's an OTA update. OnePlus rolled out the update on an incremental basis, but you can install a VPN application and connect to Germany location to get the update right away. The update weighs a decent 285MB in size.
As stated, you can expect some camera improvements after this new update. The OxygenOS 4.7.4 update brings a new camera interface to the 5T. Previously, there used to be icons for the different modes- photo, video, and Portrait. However, OnePlus has replaced the icons with the text itself, making it more convenient for the users to shift between these modes.
In addition, OnePlus says that they have made some improvements to the photo quality. These are major two changes and new features. The update also brought some new system-level optimisations. Features such as Face Unlock, Vibration, Wi-Fi, fingerprint, etc. are optimized to perform better. Nevertheless, I did not notice any speed improvements with the Face Unlock mode though.
Here's the official changelog of the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update for the OnePlus 5T

Sadly, the update doesn't include the latest December or even November security patches, which is underwhelming. The 5T arrived with October 2017 security patches preinstalled, even though it released in mid-November. In the past also, OnePlus used to deliver software updates with new features, but their track record to include latest security patch fixes from Google was poor, and it continues to be the same.
In the next week or so, OnePlus will receive the OxygenOS 5.0 beta to the 5T based on Android Oreo. At the launch event of the OnePlus 5T, the Chinese company slated the Open Beta program for the 5T in early December. Already, the OnePlus 5 received the Open Beta program based on Android Oreo a couple of weeks, and the same would be released to the 5T as well very soon.
