HMD Global's next smartphone is reportedly the low-end Nokia 2, which was leaked last month. A couple of images of the smartphone were leaked by the US Federal Communications Commission, and now, the same organisation spills out more info about the same smartphone.
According to some documents shared by the FCC of the Nokia 2, the smartphone will pack a large 4000mAh battery, a highest for any Nokia smartphone released till date. That said, with entry-level specs and an HD display, the Nokia 2 could last more than two days on a single charge.
According to previous rumours, the Nokia 2 will probably come with a 5-inch HD display, however, some speculations suggest that it could sport a 4.7-inch display instead. The phone is rumoured to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor under the hood, paired with 1GB of RAM – which is fairly less when compared to the higher offerings by other budget smartphones.
On the software front, the handset runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. As for the camera, there is no information with regards to the front and rear sensors of the Nokia 2. The battery capacity of the device is also not known, but since it is supposed to be a budget smartphone, we cannot expect a big battery or even high-quality cameras.
A couple of live images were leaked, along with full design renders were leaked online last month. Going by the leaked images, the Nokia 2 will fall in-line with other Nokia devices released by HMD Global in terms of design. On the rear of the device, we can see a single speaker at the bottom left corner while a rear camera module sits along the top edge. Complete with a LED flash, this camera setup also resembles the customary camera module design on other Nokia smartphones.
Up front, there is a front-facing secondary camera to the top left, however, an accompanying front flash seems to be missing. Unlike some of the other devices, the lack of front flash in the Nokia 2 makes sense since it is believed to be an entry-level Android smartphone.
As of now, there's no info on when HMD Global is going to announce this smartphone. But surely, the Nokia 2 will cost lower than the Nokia 3, i.e., below Rs. 8,000 in India.
