Motorola’s First Offline Smartphone Moto C Does Not Win the Race Against Xiaomi Redmi 4A

Motorola silently launched its ultra-affordable Moto C smartphone in India, and it would be the company’s first smartphone to be sold offline. With the Moto C, the Lenovo-owned company is making its way to the offline market, and it reportedly made the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus available in the offline market as well. And all the future Motorola smartphones launching in India will be sold offline, including the upcoming Moto Z2 Play scheduled to land in India on June 8.

Moto-C

Motorola priced the device at Rs. 5,999, and it competes with the Xiaomi Redmi 4A in the country, which is also sold offline in the Xiaomi’s Mi Home. The Moto C is the cheapest Motorola smartphone till date, whereas the Redmi 4A is Xiaomi’s affordable smartphone right now.

Design and Display

The Redmi 4A and Moto C sports polycarbonate body which is decent for the asking price. Nonetheless, the Redmi 4A looks better than the Moto C with its unique design language. Both the phones have hardware capacitive navigation keys, and they are not backlit either.

Coming to the display aspect, the Redmi 4A is a clear winner as it flaunts an HD panel, whereas the Moto C comes with an FWVGA display with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. The Redmi 4A and Moto C both don’t feature a 2.5D curved glass on top, which is an expected thing for the asking price.

Well, the hardware segment also belongs to the Redmi 4A because it’s powered by the quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
