6.28 million new GSM connections added in October: COAI

mobile-tower-indiaGSM mobile operators have added 6.28 million new subscribers in October, compared to 5.54 million additions in the previous month.

With this, the GSM subscriber base in the country stands at 762.36 million at the end of October 2014. A month ago, it was 756.02 million users in India.




Plus, the total subscriber base showed a 0.83% increase over September with 6.28 million new connections in October.

On the other hand, market leader Bharti Airtel added 1.86 million new GSM subscribers in October 2014, followed by Idea Cellular with 1.85 million users and its base stood at 762.36 million, GSM industry group COAI in a statement said.
