Oppo has updated its A-series smartphones with another addition – Oppo A59. The smartphone debuted in China and will go on for sales from June 18.
The phone features a 5.5-inch IPS display of HD resolution, a MediaTek MT6570 processor with a 1.5GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, Mali-T860 GPU and 3GB of RAM. There is a 32GB internal storage for the phone, which can be expanded via a microSD card. The device runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and Oppo’s Color OS 3.0 UI skin on top.
In terms of camera, there's a 13MP shooter in the rear, and a 5MP front-facing camera. A 3,075mAh battery sealed in the phone's metal unibody completes the package. For connectivity, the Oppo A59 supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, FM Radio, and a microUSB port (OTG ready) and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom.
There are two color variants available – Gold and Rose Gold. The phone costs $274 (RMB 1799). Its availability in other markets is not known.
