    Agreed!
I think MTNL is the only company in India which is 100% transparent in terms in billings.
The only company which has 1 to 30th billing unlike other companies with billing in between the month. So they can fool you in the days.

Quality of service varies in case of BSNL and MTNL. You might find one city/area/colony as well served while other being too poor, so it’s hard to generalize anything.

Plans are cheap or not again depends on what you consider cheap :)

Now everyone “wants” to have a 1Gbps connection, but point is – how much everyone is ready to spend for that much bandwidth and that further depends on how badly one needs 1Gbps? :)

    Anked Paralkar :
The tariffs are too high, common man cannot afford.
MTNL should lower tariffs and make internet affordable so that every household can gain access to Internet across Mumbai.
Firstly MTNL’s customer service is horrible nobody bothers to pick up the phone…
least interested in resolving customer issues.
I don’t think MTNL’s FTTH service will be a hit in the city…other ISPs are offering cheaper tariffs and great speeds.
ALL THE BEST MTNL in their new endeavor……

Konsi dunia mai ho mere bhai ?? MTNL’s broadband service already affordable and cheapest from any other ISPs in India.

MTNL is also number one in Mumbai and Delhi in terms of subscriber base, it has more than 85% market share in Broadband segment (Mumbai/Delhi) so if service is poor or price is not affordable than how MTNL becomes number 1 in broadband ?

MTNL users can book complaint on 198 (IVR) which is mostly resolved with in 24 hours (in Working days)

1.10Gbps is core network speed which runs on STM 64 ring with advanced DWDM on Physical network. It’s JUST the core network speed, do NOT expect speeds beyond even 100Mbps on fiber atleast for now.

2.Fiber is highly scalable, but remember it “costs” things and whether it’s ISP or end user – the spend money when they see any value in that. Beyond say 16Mbps where you can download whole movie in less then 10mins, there’s hardly any further demand for speed. Tell me what you really plan to do with 100Mbps or so?

3.Giving 1Mbps unlimited @999Rs on fiber is just OK. Crazy thing here is WHY WHY WHY NOT give that on DSL? Remember DSL costs much low as infrastructure is there + technology is relatively cheap as compared to fiber.

4.Unless MTNL gets request for speeds beyond 10Mbps, they do NOT really need fiber. In most of cases they can easily achieve that much on existing copper based DSL.

    All the best MTNL!

    The speed sounds cool…
But It should be offered at cheaper cost
Unlimited at 1Mbps for Rs. 999/- Thats not good.

They should make it more cheaper to attract more customers.

Great news, MTNL is the first Indian operator who offer such great, thrilling, beyond thinking speed to his loyal subscribers with triple play.

But plans are still not beyond their thinking, they are offering 10GBPS but plans upto 10mbps plans.
