Lenovo has been launching quite a few devices at the CES 2015 across the complete line of products it has on offer. It has now launched the VB10 smartband which comes with an always on e-ink display. The VIBE Band as Lenovo is calling it has a battery life of a week which is quite promising considering the fact that it will display and Bluetooth on at all points of time.

The smartband also has smartwatch like features so it is something a little more than your regular smartband. The VB10 is waterproof (IPx7 rating)and constantly keeps on monitoring the fitness level of its user to help them focus on their health goal. The e-ink display has a screen size of  1.43-inch with a resolution of 296 x 128 pixels but the good part is that the display will be pretty clear outdoors as well as it won’t be affected by sunlight.

It provides you with notifications about SMS, phone calls, Facebook, Twitter, Wechat and a lot of other applications. The screen supports 150 characters and the VB10 is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE for connectivity. The VB10 will measure your steps taken, distance travelled, calories burnt and sleep quality too.

The build quality is something which leaves a lot more to be desired but you can't get the world for $89. It will be available in Black, White and Gold colour options when it starts shipping in April 2015 globally. Lenovo may not have struck the right chord with its wearable the first time, but it surely is a sign of good things to come.
