India’s largest Broadband and Land line service provider BSNL, is ready to roll out a new High Speed ‘Prepaid Broadband’ service segment on the lines of prepaid mobile coupons, where subscriber can buy a recharge coupon to top up the account, instead of paying a monthly rental. BSNL Prepaid Broadband could be the next to change the game for the rising Broadband-Internet market.
Currently BSNL Broadband(wire line) user has to pay a minimum monthly rental of Rs 250 and in some telecom circle its Rs.150, which he may easily forgo by opting for the prepaid broadband connection according to a senior company official, Under this Prepaid Broadband segment a user would need to have a BSNL modem and he can then purchase a recharge coupon from the market.
Like in the case of mobile phones he would then have to recharge his account using the coupon number . The user can use his login to access his account on BSNL broadband connection across the country.The move is bound to catch up with other broadband service providers soon.
The prepaid mobile telephony has a 90% market share and that looks very encouraging for the prepaid broadband segment. BSNL is the market leader in broadband and its entry into this segment is going to have a big impact on the market. The state-run operator has a 58% of the broadband market, and a subscriber base of over 36 lakh the company draws revenue of Rs 1,800 crore from broadband and is hoping to increase the figure to Rs 4,500 crore this year.
Sources say that BSNL is going a step further, the BSNL landline and broadband services would be bundled so that a user needn’t pay a minimum monthly rental of Rs 180 on the BSNL landline that users have to currently pay also in case a user has a BSNL landline and a BSNL prepaid broadband connection he wouldn’t even have to shell out the Rs 250 minimum rental( Some circle its Rs 150) on the broadband and the Rs 180 rental on the handset, which add up to a saving of Rs 430 monthly rental.

Emad,If customer didn’t understand what is the scheme or plan detail and make allegations on operator than what can i say? I think u did not understand the bsnl dial up internet plan so u make that allegations on bsnl
emad May 4, 2009 at 12:09 pm
@dear Anand thanks you
i am asking only what is the pulse charges for its connection as previously bsnl launched prepaid dialup internet cards and landline users have to pay extra charges for calls made for data transferring if its true in this matter how can i will use it with any landline?? i don’t think landline user will agree for paying my bill?
Anand May 4, 2009 at 10:57 am
Emad, It just like Prepaid Broadband Account,any one can use it with any bsnl landline across India and when u access the Prepaid Broadband then the internet usage will be deducted from your prepaid broadband account not from the Landline Bill.
Secendly, how u think that landline connection comes free?? Is mobile phone comes free with prepaid Recharge? So don’t think that.
