NOTHING HAS BEEN MATERIALISED.

ON THE WEB SITE THERE ARE TWO PHONE NOS. EXISTS TO CONTACT call 24365 from BSNL mobile or 94200-24365. BOTH THE NOS ARE NOT IN EXISTENCE.

I MADE A COMPLAINT TO THE DGM AND THERE IS NO ACTION FROM HIM. HENCE I AM GOING TO STOP MY BSNL MOBILE SERVICES WITHIN SHORT TIME (IN DUE COURSE) AS I HAVE TO INFORM TO VARIOUS AGENCIES TO STOP CONTACTING IN THIS NO.

I am a prepaid customer since 2004. Now I have been misled to avail one paisa per second plan in November, 2009. Interruption of BSNL service at Kolkata, distortion of voice, non-availability of service, delayed delivery report of a sms etc tells upon my faith on BSNL. Still I want to continue with a change in my tariff plan. Is it possible now?

but the tariff structure o ‘KOLKATA 5 paise’ is not completely same as KOLKATA 99.
in KOLKATA 99 scheme Local call to CTD Landline/WLL & Mobile of WBTC was @20 Paise per min.but in this new plan it is 50 paise /min..so this has been increased.but the STD call rate has been decresed..previously only STD to bsnl eastern region was 50paisa/min and to other n/w in eastern region @75 paisa/min.but now STD is 50 paisa/min to BSNL & 75paisa/min to other n/w.also 50 local sms is free in this new plan.
no reduced call rate at night to own n/w is not available in this new plan..

First of all thanks to reliance to spark new price war to benefit subscribers.
I think my dear members did not understand the bsnl offer and make haste to write comments.
The offer is stv for 49 rs. Which gives rs. 5 also and makes all local and std and sms calls@49p for next 6 months..I think this offer is far better than reliance even reliance offeinf is for life time and bsnl`s is for 6 months as:
    1. in addition bsnl provides 2 bsnl local @ 20 p without any stv
    2. bsnl offers pre paid recharge/topup vouchers schemes on regular basis which offer talk value even more than amount paid. Like in haryana u get 7000/-over 5000 rs. RCV with 2.5 y validity (save 40 %)and rs. 600 talktime on topup of rs. 500 (save 20%).
    3. Only Bsnl offers free roaming in gurgaon and faridabad for haryana subscribers. While others charges for it..
    4. Bsnl has a largest coverage and best n/w .everybody knows when last year reliance launches its gsm services nation vide and offered rs. 900 for only rs. 25, how pathetic the services were. It was not possible to utilize even rs. 10 per day due to poor n/w.

Now MTS has signed a tower sharing agreement with BSNL which would eneable them deep penetration in rural areas there by getting access from arnd 42000 telephone exchange BTS all over india(except Mumbai and Delhi) where their sister concern MTNL is operating..So thats why BSNL stands tall as more private operators are singinig agreement for tower sharing after Aircel,Datacom,Tata and now MTS…Its the private players who are approaching BSNL and not the reverse..

bsnl beware. if you dont be compettive after dec31 when the number portablity will be avialble you will lose your higher revenue paying customers. in bsnl from one tariff plan to another you are not able to carry the number. from mega super plan to vasnathan number can not be carried and only new sim. if you continue with the same attitude all your number will be lost to other operators who offer better services and rates.

Its not worth to pay Rs.49/month to subscribe the BSNL’s plan as there are many other cheaper plans are available in the market like TATA’s life time plan (you have to pay just Rs. 30/month and enjoy local call at any network @ Rs.1/10min & STD call @ 3/10min), Reliance is going to launch per second plan by yesterday(5th Nov 09).

Customers are satisfied with BSNL’s various tariff structures suit to the needs of various types of people. We have to keep the public sector strong, otherwise all the competitions will be ending and the preivate operators will start looting.

The BSNL has today launched new prepaid plan .All local call/Std/ sms @49paisa per mnt on a STV of Rs.49/- with one month validity of STV . Though it is a good decision to fix 49 paisa per mnt call/sms but giving one month validity of STV is not suitable for customers. The extra payment of Rs.49/- per month by customer is too much to avail call @ 49 paisa at this time of open choice/offer in telecom market by different operators and no customer will like to avail BSNL STV as excess burden on their pocket.

Here under I am giving some example for Punjab Circle and offers by other operators
available in Punjab. Taking example call charges for 100 mnts in a month for comparisation with other operators

    1. Idea stv charge Rs.60/- for 12 months .for call rates @ 60 paisa per mnt .ie only Rs.5/-
extra for a month to call charges .For example if a customer make call for 100 mnts in a month, he will have to pay 100×60 = Rs. 60.00 plus Rs.5/- stv charges, Total comes to
Rs.60+5 = Rs.65 for 100 mnts in a month, whereas in BSNL he will have to pay 100×49 = Rs.49/- for call charges plus Rs.49/- for STV in a month, Total comes to Rs.49+49 =Rs.98/- in a month for 100 mnts call and as such he have to pay 98-65 + Rs.33 much in BSNL then Idea

    2. Airtel RC is of Rs.60/- with talk time of Rs.20/- means Rs.40/- for 180 days, that comes to Rs.6.66 for a month for 60 paisa per mnt call charges, similarly call charges for 100 mnts comes to Rs. 100×60 =Rs.60.00 plus Rs.6.66 monthly charges that comes to
Rs. 60.00+6.66 ie Total 66.66 for 100 mnts whereas BNL charges will be Rs.98/- and thus a difference of Rs.98.00 -66.66 =Rs.31.34 much then BSNL

    3. Vodafone charge RC Rs.123 with talktime of RS.15 ie RS.123-15=Rs.108.00 for
6 months that comes to Rs.18/- per month but their call rates are only 50 paisa per mnt
Thus their charges for 100 mnts comes to 100×50=Rs.50.00 plus Rs.18/- monthly charges
That comes to RS. 50+18 = Rs.68/- and BSNL charges will be Rs.98/- ie Rs.30 much in BSNL

4 . Reliance simply providing all calls/sms @ 50 paisa per mnt with no extra/additional charges that for 100 mnts comes to only Rs.50.00 comparing Rs.98/- in BSNL means
Rs. 48/- are much in BSNL

    5. Tata DOCOMO providing call at 1 paisa per mnt without any extra charges that comes to 100×60 Rs.60/- only for 100 mnts ie Rs.38/- less then BSNL

The above is a simple comparisation of BSNL Call rates with other operators considering only 100 mnts call in a months Getting STV recharge every month will not be convient / easy for customers and to keep a watch on its expiry

Good move, Airtel is thinking to increase validity of those 50p/sec tariff vouchers to lifetime. I got this information from my friend who works in Airtel itself. Vodafone shall also follow it. It will happen due to MNP. I am sure that in next few months, these companies ‘ll also increase validity of per second pulse vouchers to lifetime.

yes Reliance is not trusted operator. In my opinion most trusted Bsnl & airtel . but bsnl release only this 30 days stv for lower call rate which is not acceptable, when other operator release these types of stv just with 1 year validity. second thing is that, i purchase RGSM sim for this offer, but some places of jaipur, network is very bad .

    AnujB :

kaushik :vodafone beats airtel in all aspects in kolkata circle1st its local & std combo of 50 paise to any network is better than airtel std offers of A-A 50 paise and A-O = 60 paise2nd its per second plan is also 1 paise/sec throughout india unlike airtels 1 paise on own network and 1.20 on other networkvodafone can claim the nominal monthly or daily rental they charging for its excellent network throughout west bengal

You will end up paying atleast 10-15 bucks more in the voda plan in Kolkata (thats NOT nominal..i will get a hello tune for that money in airtel)…plus the “daily rental” clause means that by any chance if you dont have balance in your phone (happens to me sometimes..hehe)..and its time for them to deduct 50p..you will be removed from the plan..and you will have to again recharge with Rs63!!! if u r going for voda 1 sec plan..be sure to b ready for a lot of call center calling..
As far as network goes it think difference between voda and airtel is very marginal..went to north bengal for holidays…excellent coverage for airtel…even aircel was pretty good there…!!

i dont have much airtel friends or relatives, i actually call more to vodafone and bsnl numbers since i work in a PSU
so Airtel charging 60 paise to other networks is not at all befeficial to me

one thing i can say surely Rs 48 charged by reliance is not one time cost
customer again has to pay some rentals in coming days
I personally experienced it in 2007 from RGSM ( then SMART ) in kolkata when they said one have to charge with rs 249 to get some benefits for life time, but they withdrew it for new as well as existing customers
    i dont trust reliance
if they dont take any rentals then u can see them to deduct your balance automatically without any reason

kaushik :vodafone beats airtel in all aspects in kolkata circle1st its local & std combo of 50 paise to any network is better than airtel std offers of A-A 50 paise and A-O = 60 paise2nd its per second plan is also 1 paise/sec throughout india unlike airtels 1 paise on own network and 1.20 on other networkvodafone can claim the nominal monthly or daily rental they charging for its excellent network throughout west bengal

YAR i dont know why people are talking about BSNL, AIRTEL, VODAFONE, IDEA wen the biggest player ” R E L I A N C E ” is offering LIFE TIME WITH NO RENTALS ALL INDIA 50 ps , ROAMING 50 ps , All SMS 50 ps, Special local pack at 40 ps(no rental) What more one wants, THEIR BILLING IS FLAWLESS, NETWORK IS SUPERB(Gsm also fast improving). ANY ONE WANNA CHALLANGE ME????

U want to pay 72 ps for a local call on per sec basis or 50 ps flat for all calls including roaming, RCOM is doing public serviceeeeee that is why poor company has fallen 50% from the recent high of Rs.320.

Now it is upto the consumer either to get benifited by Rcom’s move or get royal butchered with Airtel or vodafone. :-) JAI AMBANIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

AIRTEL’s advantage plan with validity of 365 days and vodafone’s 54 bonus card are giving almost the same benifit to its customers in kolkata.in case of vodafone the call rate is flat 50p/min across India with 180 days validity..and in case of AIRTEL it is A-A @50p/min and others @ 60p/min with a validity of 365 days.

these all are the simply reliance effect i think..

ishan :VODAFONE’s new 54 bonus card in kolkata offering all local and std calls @50p/min with a validity of 180 days..so it’s better than AIRTEL’s advantage plan in kolkata which offers A-A @ 50p/min and others @ 60p/min with a validity of 180 days.

AIRTEL RC 54 validity is now 365 days not 180 days

    ya kaushik u r right..i have made a mistake..

Really, BSNL is still a step behind other companies, it have to provide this facility for Life Time. It is the way it will be prove its worthness. Otherwise RIM or TaTa Docomo are best in this Tarrif Comparison. BSNL and RIM networks are same.
I think they have to reconsider it again.

A company like BSNL need not change their tariff daily.maintain the quality of service and help the consumers by changing the tariff once in a month, maximum. validity periode should be at least for three months

Cost of STV Rs.49/- for 30 days validity only is much high.
Reliance charge nothing for 0.50 paisa call/std.Others providing
validity of one year for Rs.64 or 66 STV only
BSNL should give valdity for much period ie 6 months or 1 yr
    for this STV (Rs.49/-)

bsnl simply sucks.. It is most expensive in india. service also not good. reliance simply rocks. even airtel is much cheaper than this. It has increased validity on advantage vouchers to 3 months. pay per second billing is better than this. bsnl per second billing is also expensive. bsnl better stop cheapting people. offer something good or go to hell, leave ur buisness..

Problem of BSNL lies in their administrative structure.Policy makers of BSNL are not employee of BSNl, they are actually employees of DoT comes in deputation to BSNL.So why would they care if BSNL does good or not.BSNL employees are protesting against this structure for long.
