In an attempt to make wireless broadband more affordable India’s largest telecommunication company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today introduces 4 new ‘True Unlimited EVDO Data STVs’ for its customers across all circles.
BSNL introduces new Unlimited EVDO Data STVs for Rs.55, Rs.251, Rs.440 and Rs.825 offering True Unlimited Home and Roam data usage (No FUP) with speed up to 3.1 Mbps for 1 day, 7 Days, 15 Days and 30 Days respectively. The new STVs are applicable for BSNL’s EVDO General Plan users.

Activation through sms for evdo plans works only in bsnl south india circle.this facility is not availabe in north india.

I think , no….bcoz negative balance announced (in bal. enq.) is as same as one month top up amount even you do not top up for continuous 2 months.

I am a bsnl endo rev a customer under evdo 250 (1 gb) paln. I have extended the validity of cdma sim by 6 months using plan voucher 20. whether top up by rs. 285 is necessary in every month, even if i am not interested to browse on a particular month?

Well bsnl Is not giving the promised speed in jammu and kashmir. What they say is complete wrong guys go for tata photon with unlimited plan.

@ BSNL EVDO customer from Maharashtra(SPECIALLY) and from other circles too
I bought BSNL EVDO data card 2 days back in Maharashtra(model-Prithvi UE100 )with prepaid General plan.
Total Charges taken as: Rs 960(offer price of Prithvi Data card)+ 500(activation charges)= Rs 1460 total….Also got Rs 399 promo balance with 30 days validity.
But a/c to your post/bsnl official website…..no activation/suk charges for data card purchased from bsnl….Did they charged me extra Rs. 500 ??….or every circle decides the activation charges by own sepeartely??
I also got Rs 399 promo usages balance valid for one month (But Officer say –this promo balance is provided with “general prepaid plan” only and not with Rs 150 , 250, 500 or 750 unlmtd prepaid plan.
While CC and your post say that its for all prepaid customer who buy data card from bsnl…pls. clarify).
In general plan…I am unable to activate any STV using “SMS format”(as you said in post).
Regarding this CC and bsnl officer say only through C-TOP u can activate any STV (e.g 55 –UNLMTD etc, and 170 LIMITED etc )….Is it true in practical scenario?? OR this SMS format is circle dependant ??
I am using GENERAL EVDO PREPAID plan…so While activating any STV through PAYTM ….Should I select “special recharge option” or only “top up option “….??
Or should I try by DATA CARD menu there…?? pls help anybody.
Also, with signal good strength (80-85 dbm) I got speedtest.net result as:–
0.12 Mbps D/L and 0.15 Mbps U/L ….I tested in different day and night time and changing the locations too…even at BSNL office too where there is a EVDO -BTS.

Not satisfied with speed….very poor.
Bsnl Officer says max speed 1 Mbps and in general 0.5 Mbps you will get.
Other customers from different circles pls. do share the speedtest results .

CDMA TECHNOLOGY IS A NEW LATEST DEVELOPED TECHNOLOGY THAN THE GSM TECHNOLOGY WHICH IS OLD TECHNOLOGY. FOR COVERAGE THE BSNL IS THE BEST. BSNL COMPANY IS ALWAYS DEVELOPING THEIR COVERAGE BY INSTALLING BTS IN ALL CORNERES OF THE COUNTRY. EVDO BTS ARE ALSO BEING INSTALLED BY BSNL IN THEIR EXISTING CELL BTS THROUGH OUT THE COUNTRY. EVDO -Evolution Data Optimised(Only) is actually one of the 3G technology in CDMA domain known as CDMA2000 1x .But as it optimised for data it is no longer referred to as 3G. The 3G what we usually referr is (in india) is 3G in GSM domain , it is WCDMA (I know ,it is really confusing to have CDMA name in GSM domain)

Some bad news for everyone. I just came from BSNL office met the SDO and CTO. BSNL is closing EVDO networks in region with very less customers. Only small towns will get affected. Like in my city ‘Deoghar(JH) they will be asking all current EVDO customers to either migrate into wimax or other options. By next month written letter will be sent to customers.

Evdo’s are differnt than 3G’s,Evdo works on cdma technology Like Photon plus,Mblaze,Netconnect+,netcruze…and 3G works on gsm Network..Read wikipedia article on EVDO…

It is only available in cdma. bsnl 3g is different….and yes it is true you can download unlimited for one month without fup….only bsnl evdo provides true unlimited plan….I m using this plan from last one year@mith

i m using BSNL EVDO and 100 % satisfied… it gives me 100 % connectivity even in j&k’s far flung area’s as it is having 1 x mode inbuild…
In j&k tata photon service is very poor with very costly plan… i m happy wid rs. 650 (older plan).. Thanx to J&K BSNL circle..

wait wait.. Is this true. some one please clarify.. im talking about bsnl evdo prepaid plan 750 unlimited.. MY QUESTION is, for the whole month, do we get a speed of 3.1Mbps, (approx 387 KBps); 24X7 with no FUP.. free even on roaming..
Is this applicable for 3g data cards also.. In our city, its rare to find an evdo card and evdo enabled networks.. rather 3g data cards are available.. pls clarify

calculus check bsnk kolkata website. Last news on this site was Rs. 1200/- approx for new data cards. Plz check with your local bsnl customer care centre.
