Yet another phone had been spotted on the GFXBench yesterday, and it could be the much awaited Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2. What is believed to be a leak revealed all details about the upcoming Xiaomi device before the company took it down later in the day. Nevertheless, the leak sheds light on the specifications of the Jason handset and going by them; we can say that it is most likely going to be a mid-range smartphone.
The device has been codenamed ‘Jason’, however, we could not say for sure if it is indeed the next Redmi flagship device. There is also a possibility that this upcoming Xiaomi smartphone is an entirely different handset as the Jason is rumoured to have a 5.5-inch display, similar to its predecessor, the Redmi Pro.
This latest leak claims that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 could come in a 4GB variant with 64GB internal storage as well because it was previously reported that the phone would only be released with 3GB RAM. As for the camera, the Redmi Pro 2 might feature a dual-camera setup with a 12MP and a 5MP camera combination, while there is a 16MP secondary front-facing camera. This is a significant upgrade given the 5MP selfie camera in the last model.
The leak also mentions an LCD display with Full-HD resolution rather than the earlier rumoured OLED display. The device will most likely be powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC. Other expected featured of the Redmi Pro 2 include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and sensors like Gyroscope and Accelerometer. The device is expected to come with a 4,050mAh battery.
These, again, are rumours and speculations, and nothing is concrete until we get further updates on the Redmi Pro 2. As of now, nothing else is known about the phone except that it might also be the Xiaomi Mi 6C but that is highly unlikely. The release date also remains unclear.
