A series of tweets from Xiaomi's global Twitter account hinted at the global launch of Snapdragon 636 SoC powered Mi Max 3. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 was launched in China a couple of months ago, but Xiaomi did not launch the product outside its homeland. Having said that, Xiaomi will even launch the Mi Max 3 in India, probably next month. For the last two months, Xiaomi has been launching a new product for every two months in India and the company even set a new launch event for September 28, but it's not for a smartphone launch though. Going by the teaser images, Xiaomi might launch some IoT products in India on September 28. So most probably, the Max 3 will launch next month in India.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3: Specifications and Features
Xiaomi's Mi Max lineup is aimed at multimedia users and the Mi Max 3 is no exception. The Max 3 boasts a 6.9-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. Internally, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset, clubbed with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion. Graphics on the Max 3 are handled by Adreno 509 GPU.
Optics on the handset include a 12MP primary sensor which comes paired with a 5MP sensor. The camera setup is pretty much identical to what we saw on the Redmi Note 5 Pro. On the front side, the Max 3 has an 8MP shooter. The Mi Max 3 is backed by a 5500mAh battery and has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. As for connectivity options, the Mi Max 3 has Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C port.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3: Expected Pricing in India
Moving onto the pricing, the Mi Max 3 comes in two variants- 4GB/64GB priced at Yuan 1699 (approx. Rs 17,800) and the 6GB/128GB is retailing for Yuan 1999 (approx. Rs 21,700). The pricing of this device is on par with the Xiaomi Mi A2 in China. To recall, the Mi Max 2 was launched at Rs 16,999 in India, so the Max 3 could launch at the similar price tag of Rs 16,999. The Redmi Note 5 Pro is retailing for Rs 14,999 in India.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Competitors in India
The Mi Max 3 falls into a different category and niche, and there are not many competitors for the handset in India. However, Honor has recently launched the Honor 8X Max in China, which could also make its way to the Indian market sometime next month. The Honor 8X Max sports a 7.12-inch Full HD+ display and it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset. The 8X Max also comes in different storage configurations, 5000mAh battery and dual cameras on the rear side. So if Honor prices the device aggressively, the 8X Max will give a tough competition to the Mi Max 3 in the country.
