Vodafone’s Rs 299 Prepaid Plan Offers 1GB 2G Data Per Day and Unlimited Voice Calls for 56 Days

Vodafone India has come up with a new plan for its subscribers in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circle. Priced at Rs 299, this plan gives 2G data, instead of 3G or 4G data which Vodafone is offering in other circles. This could be due to lack of 4G presence in the circle. Apart from the data benefit, the same plan gives benefits on par with Reliance Jio's Rs 299 prepaid plan. The Rs 299 prepaid plan from Vodafone provides a user unlimited voice call (although with a daily/weekly limit), 1GB data per day and on the brighter side 100 SMS per day for the entire validity period.

Currently, this plan is available only in Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circle, but it's expected to be made available for Vodafone users in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circle and other circles where Vodafone has poor 4G coverage.

Talking about the benefits offered by this plan, users will receive 56GB of data (1GB data per day), unlimited voice calls even on roaming and 100 SMS per day for 56 days. But the voice calling is limited to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week, like other unlimited combo 3G/4G data plans.

This is underwhelming from Vodafone as Airtel, Reliance Jio and BSNL are offering voice calls without any daily or weekly limit. However, if Vodafone extends its Super VoLTE coverage across the country, it will also start offering voice calls without FUP limit, but for now, the limit stays.

In the same circle, Vodafone is offering other prepaid plans of Rs 459, Rs 409, Rs 349 and Rs 176. The first three plans offer same benefits as the Rs 299 tariff plan, but the validity differs with the price increase. For example, the Rs 459 plan is valid for 90 days, followed by the Rs 409 plan which offers benefits for 84 days. Lastly, the Rs 176 tariff plan gives 1GB data, instead of 1GB data per day for the period of 28 days.

In other circles, Vodafone has similar plans, but it offers 3G/4G data. Reliance Jio also has its presence in the same circle, and it's offering affordable tariff plans than Vodafone with much better data speeds.
