The Indian telecom industry is fun to watch right now. Vodafone India has now updated its RED range of postpaid plans, following Airtel's Rental discount on myPlan Infinity Postpaid Plans. Vodafone is now giving up to 20% rental discount on the RED postpaid plans above Rs 499. At the same time, it also increased the data benefit up to 50% for some plans. The new plans are already effective in some circles, so we suggest you contact the customer care before proceeding to activate the plan.

Firstly, Vodafone has followed the footsteps of Bharti Airtel and introduced Rental Discount scheme to decrease the price of postpaid plans further. Vodafone RED postpaid plans start at Rs 399 and goes all the way up to Rs 2,999. The Vodafone RED Basic 399 plan now gives 20GB data benefit, and the company is also offering 15% rental discount on the plan.

The Vodafone RED Traveler R plan now offers 30GB data up from the 20GB offering earlier, and the company is proving 20% rental discount per month. Customers opting for RED Traveler M 699, RED Traveler L 999 plans will now receive 40GB and 60GB data per month.

Vodafone also has four RED International plans of Rs 1,299, Rs 1,699, Rs 1,999 and Rs 2,999, and they offer 75GB, 100GB, 125GB and 200GB data benefit per month respectively. Vodafone customers choosing the Rs 499 and above RED postpaid plans will also receive 20% rental discount every month.

Unlike Airtel, Vodafone did not mention the maximum rental discount. If Vodafone offers flat 20% discount on premium RED postpaid plans, then customers will be more happy to choose the network as Airtel is offering just Rs 100 discount. Apart from the RED Basic 399 plan, all other plans offer unlimited voice calls even for roaming calls too. And the best part to choose a postpaid connection is there's no daily or monthly FUP.

Vodafone RED postpaid plans also give additional benefits such as data rollover benefit up to 200GB, 100 SMS per day, free magazines, Vodafone RED Shield, and the premium plans offer free Netflix subscription. Vodafone is also offering Live TV streaming service through Vodafone Play application.

This is an expected change from Vodafone, but the increased data benefit is a surprising move. For starters, Vodafone RED Traveler S 499 plan will be an ideal one as it gives 30GB data per billing cycle with data rollover scheme, and unlimited voice calls without any FUP.
