Exclusive : Vodafone to slash roaming rates following TRAI amendment starting May 1st

Vodafone, will be slashing its roaming changes as per the recent tariff amendment from TRAI to make roaming more affordable. TRAI has proposed new reduced ceiling charges and this move from Vodafone has come after it.

Currently on the roaming pack call charges has been revised from 1.5ps/sec to 1.3p/s to local calls and 1.6p/sec on outgoing std calls in prepaid and in postpaid its being revised from Re1 for outgoing calls to .80 ps and std calls at 1.15 from 1.50ps. Vodafone has also slashed the base tariff of the roaming charges on both sms and outgoing calls upto 75% says source. SMS charges have become cheaper than normal sms charges.
