Vodafone Launches Radio Mirchi Caller Tune serviceVodafone the 2nd largest GSM mobile service provider of India today announced the launch of a new service dubbed as Vodafone Mirchi Callertune service in assocition with Radio Mirchi.

The new Value added service allows Vodafone Postpaid and Preapaid subscribers to download Songs run on the Radio channel and set them as their caller tune. These songs can be used as Caller's Ring Back Tones and opens a new avenue for revenue generation for the Vodafone Essar as well as the FM radio service provider.




The service is available in 32 cities of the country where Radio Mirchi services are presently operational. Vodafone Subscribers of  need to dial 5-983-XYZ (where 983 is the Mirchi frequency and XYZ is the individual city code) and download songs. For instance Mumbai subscribers need to dial 5-983-22.

On the service launch Mr. Prashant Panday, CEO, ENIL quted – “Radio Mirchi is the country’s favorite radio station because we have always been focused on listening to our listeners– be it for our music or for our other content. With Vodafone Mirchi Caller Tunes, we have made the downloading of caller tunes extremely easy and simple. Our patented technology has enabled us to do this. We, along with our partners – Vodafone are extremely excited about this new technology and believe that the simplicity of the service will find a lot of users.

Kumar Ramanathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Vodafone Essar further added “Vodafone Mirchi Caller Tune is an innovative concept which offers our customers absolute ease and convenience of downloading their favorite caller tunes even as they are listening to it on the radio. We are committed to use innovation and simplicity to similarly empower our customers in the future as well.”

How to select a song?

By Voice Call-:
>Tune into RadioMirchi & call the designated RadioMirchi Dialing no of the station
>If you are a new user then you can select the browsing language based on >the region that you belong to
>Then press 3 to browse through the songs & follow the IVR instructions thereafter.
>Press 5 (for the current song), 6 (for the just played song) or 7 (just before >the played song) to set it as a Callertune on your Vodafone mobile phone.

By SMS-:

>Your local RadioMirchi RJ will announce the short code for your region which you can send across to the dialing no of your region
>You´ll receive a list of three songs on your Vodafone mobile phone in the following format:
>Song 1 (Movie 1) (currently playing song)
>Song 2 (Movie 2) (just played song)
>Song 3 (Movie 3) (just before played song)
>Reply with the song no as 1, 2 or 3 from your Vodafone mobile phone. Tariff/ Charges-:

>Browsing on voice at Re 1/min
>Browsing on SMS will be toll free
>Standard Callertune charges will apply (Selection – Rs 15/song for 3 >months)
>Rental Rs 30/month.
