Following the above operators approach now leading GSM service provider Vodafone Essar has come up with two offers. In first offer they have announced reduced international roaming rates for its postpaid customers travelling to South Africa during the IPL Twenty20 cricket .Vodafone is charging lower on roaming services while others are offering IPL-based contents on mobile phones to connect with the subscribers.
Vodafone Essar, which is also the official partner of the second edition of the Twenty20 tournament had tied up with Vodacom, a joint venture partner with the Vodafone Group, to offer reduced rates of up to 85 per cent on calls, SMS and GPRS services
In the second offer Vodafone brings the Vodafone Star of the Match contest for its mobile customers.To participate, customers need to SMS STAR to toll-free number 56565 and answer a cricket-related question the contest is SMS-based and gives an opportunity for 59 Vodafone customers who can win an autographed ball each by the winning match captain of every IPL match also, 20 of the 59 winners will be felicitated individually during post- match presentation ceremony by the winning team captain.
The mobile company will take care of the travel and stay expenses along with the cost of Visa and also of the ticket of the matches for these winners.
