VNPT Signs Network Deal for 5G Deployment in Vietnam

VNPT Signs Network Deal for 5G Deployment in Vietnam
Vietnamese operator VNPT (Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group) has selected Swedish network vendor Ericsson for its 5G network deployment. As part of the deal, Ericsson will supply and install its radio products on VNPT's network. VNPT will initially roll out its 5G network in Vietnam's major cities, focusing on areas with a high density of VNPT mobile subscribers, strong tourism activity, and developed enterprise and industrial zones.

5G Network Rollout

According to the official release, the 5G deployment is a crucial part of VNPT's strategy to provide high-quality network capabilities, enabling faster and more reliable connectivity to meet the growing demands of its customers.

VNPT said, "Collaborating with Ericsson will enable VNPT to rapidly deploy a world class 5G network and meet the growing demands of our customers in Vietnam. 5G will serve as the foundation that will drive Vietnam’s economic development and societal progress, thereby accelerating its journey towards becoming a digital economy."

Role of 5G in Transforming Business

The operator highlighted that 5G technology will enable the development of new applications and services, from enhanced mobile broadband to the Internet of Things (IoT), while also digitalising business operations across various industries, thereby boosting Vietnam's socio-economic development.

This marks a significant milestone in the long-standing collaboration between the two companies in Vietnam, the official release said.
