Vodafone Idea has launched a new number rakshak initiative to ensure that people don't get lost during the Maha Kumbh. Due to the large scale of Maha Kumbh, thousands of individuals are lost or separated every time a kumbh mela takes place. As per info shared by the telco in a release, around 70,000 were reported lost or separated during the 2013 Kumbh Mela. This year, so far, over 250 people were lost within the first few hours of the first day itself. Thus, to solve this problem, vi has launched the 'Vi Number Rakshak' initiative. This will ensure that no one is lost or separted during Kumbh Mela 2025.

Since there are many elders and children in the Kumbh Mela that are not likely tech savvy, Vi will offer them a sacred rudraksh with the personal emergy contact numbers of their family members. This will be given through the Vi Number Rakshak booth that is set up near the Swani Ramanand Acharya Shibir Akhada.
Using the numbers listed on the scared rudraksh, lost people can take help of others or the authorities present there to find their family or friends. Along with that, vi has scaled the network capacity for the Maha Kumbh Mela by adding 30 new sites in Triveni Sangam as well as around 40 macro and high powered small-cells covering all the major points in nearby areas. Vi has also strengthened the backhaul by adding 32 km of fiber to ensure last mile connectivity can be delivered with high quality services.
