Turkcell Successfully Trials 5G Cloud RAN Technology
Turkcell has successfully completed the trial deployment of Ericsson 5G Cloud Radio Access Network (RAN) technology on its mobile network in Turkiye. The trial, conducted by Ericsson, included demonstrations, test cases, and performance assessments. This successful deployment highlights Turkcell's readiness to embrace cloud-native technologies and open network architectures—key components for advancing telecommunications infrastructure, the joint statement said.

Benefits of Cloud RAN Technology

The Ericsson 5G Cloud RAN solution, which virtualises RAN functions and decouples hardware from software, provides Turkcell with the agility needed to rapidly roll out next-generation services and optimise network performance.

Turkcell highlighted the significance of this achievement, stating: "This trial represents a critical advancement in Turkcell's journey to modernise our network infrastructure. By embracing 5G Cloud RAN technology, we are not only enhancing our network's capabilities but also laying the groundwork for our transition to an Open RAN strategy."

Impact on Network Management
