Mumbai-based VAS company Routesms said that Norway headquartered Telenor has signed up as a Global Direct Connect Partner (GDCP). Routesms is a SMS aggregators and messaging & voice API company. The agreement gives Routesms instant access to Telenor’s 192 million mobile subscribers globally, including India. It also offers better SMS delivery percentages, stronger control over the systems and ability to handle significant traffic handling capacity.
“In our business, the more direct connects partners one has, the more reliable and robust one’s service is. Partnering with Telenor gives us more intimate access to Telenor’s vast subscribers base as well as increases our coverage reach to countries such as Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Serbia, Ukraine, Hungary, Montengro, Thailand, Malaysisa, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan,” Rajdip Gupta, Co-founder & CEO, Routesms Solutions Limited, said in a statement.
“Our sustained effort of getting more MNOs onboard has helped us become an automatic choice for enterprises, MNOs and resellers alike when it comes to any messaging requirement worldwide,” he added.
Started in 2004, Routesms currently routes more than 1.9 billion messages a month over its proprietary technology. Routesms is the only GSMA accredited open HUB connectivity solution provider in South Asia. It is authorized to handle not only A2P (application to peer) but also P2P (peer to peer) traffic for enterprises and MNOs.
Routesms said that Telenor is the 115th mobile network operator to sign up as a GDCP globally. The company aims to get 150 MNOs onboard by the end of this financial year. In markets such as Myanmar, where the operator has implemented strong filters for (application to peer) A2P traffic, this tie up gives Routesms an edge over others to deliver quality traffic.
Routesms expects an increase of 5- 6% from in the messaging traffic to the existing estimated international volume of over 900 million SMSs.
Routesms has a research and development center (R&D) in Mumbai, and has offices in Pune, Hyderabad and New Delhi. Globally, the company has offices in Canada, Congo, Nigeria, UAE and the UK .
