Telenor has been out of the scene for a while now, but the telco is still offering some of the best-prepaid tariff plans in the market. The Norway-based telecom operator which announced a merger with Bharti Airtel is offering a Rs 349 plan for its prepaid users. With this plan, Telenor is competing with the Jio's Rs 349 tariff plan which is the best-prepaid plan in the price range. Telenor's plan offers 1GB of data per day, and unlimited voice calls to any network for 56 days from the date of recharge, almost in-line with what Jio is offering with its prepaid plan.
However, this plan from Telenor doesn't provide any SMS benefits which is a letdown. The voice calls are unlimited within Telenor network, but when it comes to other network calls, Telenor is limiting them to 300 minutes per day and 1200 minutes per week. Voice calls on roaming are free too. The lack of SMS benefits is something that's worrying Telenor users.
In comparison, Reliance Jio is offering 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit and 100 SMS per day for 70 days. Telenor's plan is short of data benefit, SMS benefit and validity benefit.
Telenor also has other plans such as Rs 143, Rs 195 and Rs 299. The Rs 143 plan offers unlimited voice calls and 2GB data for 28 days, followed by the Rs 195 plan that provides a user unlimited voice calls (limited to just Telenor to Telenor calls) and 1.4GB data per day for 28 days. And lastly, the Rs 299 plan is a pure voice calling plan that offers unlimited voice calls to any network with 300 minutes FUP per day for 84 days.
These plans are valid across Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra & Goa, UP (East) and UP (West) circles. Airtel is also offering a Rs 349 plan with unlimited voice calls, 2.5GB data per day and 100 SMS per day for 28 days.
