Tata Sky Brings New Channel Packs With Six Months Validity

Follow Us

Almost all the DTH operators in the country removed the long-validity channel packs following the implementation of the new tariff mandate by Trai. However, Trai is asking operators to start providing long-validity plans to the customers as more and more users have stopped recharging their TV connection. Now, operators are coming forward with new packs to lure the users. In the process, Tata Sky has introduced six new semi-annual or six-month plans to the users and the prices start at Rs 2,007. Tata Sky is in a tough spot right now as several Multi TV users of the company are looking to join another DTH operator because of increasing pricing. In contrast, Airtel Digital TV, D2h, Sun Direct and Dish TV are also providing long-term plans for a while now, and we must say, Tata Sky has joined the party a bit later.

Tata Sky Semi-Annual Plans Detailed

The thing to note here is that Tata Sky is slowly starting to bring back the semi-annual and annual packs. These packs are a good deal for subscribers, who are sure about their channel choice and would not want to change their channels in the six months since the semi-annual pack will levy a lock-in period. Another crucial thing to note is that these plans will only be available for corporate connections of Tata Sky. Here are the new plans released by Tata Sky which come with semi-annual validity.

The first plan in this list is the Hindi Basic Semi-Annual pack available for Rs 2,008. Further, there are the Hindi Basic HD Semi-Annual pack of Rs 2,836, Gujarati Hindi Basic Semi-Annual Pack of Rs 2,007, Gujarati Hindi Basic HD Semi-Annual Pack of Rs 2,698, Marathi Hindi Basic Semi-Annual Pack of Rs 2,029 and Marathi Hindi Basic HD Semi-Annual Pack of Rs 2,840.

With this new pack release from Tata Sky, we can see that the DTH provider is back on the track of releasing new long-term plans with 6-month subscription period. There is also a chance that we might see some new annual packs from Tata Sky in the coming days.

Tata Sky Launches Broadcaster Packs Starting at Rs 49

Last month, Tata Sky also launched Bengali broadcaster packs for its Bengali audience. These packs were - Star Bengali Value A pack for Rs 49, which comes with a total of 14 channels, including channels like National Geographic, Star Gold, Jalsha Movies, Star Sports 2 and 3 and the Star Bengali Value B which ships the Star Sports 1 Hindi instead of Star Sports 1 Bangla like it is the case in the Star Bengali Value A pack, but also comes with 14 channels and the same price tag.

Similarly, there are Premium Star packs which are available for MRP of Rs 79, and they bundle 17 channels. In the premium packs as well, subscribers will have the option of Premium A pack and Premium B pack with the Sports 1 Hindi channel replacing the Star Sports 1 Bangla channel in the latter.
