Swipe Technologies, the homegrown smartphone brand, today announced the launch of a new smartphone, namely, the Swipe Elite Pro. Priced at Rs. 6,999, the Swipe Elite Pro offers a fingerprint scanner and 3GB of RAM. The device will be exclusively available on e-commerce portal Snapdeal starting October 8.
Swipe says that the Elite Pro is for users who're looking for a premium smartphone without burning a hole in their pocket. The smartphone has a 5-inch HD display and sports a plastic body. While the HD display doesn't inspire confidence, it is in-line with other smartphones in the price range.
The Swipe Elite Pro is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, might be the Snapdragon 425 SoC, mated with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Most of the smartphones in this price range offer 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but Swipe is offering better than them. The internal storage can be expanded up to 64GB with a microSD card.
The device is equipped with a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash, coupled with an 8MP front-facing camera. As said earlier, the Swipe Elite Pro has a fingerprint scanner located at the back of the phone. Also, you can use the scanner to lock any apps or specific files, your gallery, etc.
The device has a 2500mAh battery backing it and there are connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port. Sadly, the device still runs the dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. The smartphone will be available in single White colour.
Announcing the launch of ELITE Pro, Mr Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO of Swipe Technologies said, “The ELITE PRO is a testament to Swipe’s determination to set new benchmarks for affordable smartphones category. The mightier, stronger and stylish Swipe ELITE Pro is power packed with features that stand on our promise of delivering true quality at the true value of money. It’s a perfect device for the growing tech-savvy consumers and associating with Snapdeal, we are hoping to reach out to more people in tier 2,3 & 4 cities.”
