SonyEricsson Yari is a candy bar-shaped phone measuring 100 x 48 x 15.7 mm, with a weight of 115 grams. The handset packs a 5-megapixel camera, assisted-GPS, instant messaging and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync support.
Sony claims that the Yari will be the first phone to allow "gesture gaming" outside Japan. Yari has accelerometers that can be used for motion controls with games, which is similar to how Nintendo's Wii controllers work. The phone will have 60 MB of storage, plus a microSD slot for an included 1 GB card. Yari, which will ship in Achromatic Black and Cranberry White in the fourth quarter of 2009, is specualted to be the cheapest phone among the ist all new phones unveiled.
