Scala stated that the SSCLCR01 data center, delivered in just 10 months, signifies a strategic move to tap into emerging Hyperscale markets across Latin America. Situated 56 miles from Santiago, the data centre becomes a key connectivity hub with the forthcoming Humboldt submarine cable.

Scala Data Centers stated that this cable is set to connect Latin America to the Asia-Pacific regions for the first time, spanning 9,500 miles of fibre and promising scale, connection quality, and lower latency.

Sustainability

The Chilean data centre is operated entirely on 100 percent renewable energy and aligns with Scala's commitment to sustainability. SSCLCR01 data centre was built on the One Scala Template design, achieving energy efficiency with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) below 1.2-1.3 and a Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) of zero through air cooling.
