Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019) Launched With Backlit Keyboard and Built-in S Pen

Samsung Electronics on Thursday announced the launch of the Notebook 9 Pen (2019) models with an improved S Pen. The new model of Notebook 9 also comes with several added specifications like the bigger battery. Samsung has announced two variants of the Notebook 9 Pen (2019), the base model with a 13.3-inch screen, while the display size of the top end model goes up to 15-inch. The Notebook 9 Pen (2019) comes bundled with a backlit keyboard and built-in S Pen.

Both the 13.3-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 Pen (2019) models run on Windows 10 out-of-the-box. As of yet, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer hasn’t revealed the price of either of the Notebook 9 Pen (2019) models. As for the availability, both the variants of the Notebook will be available in the South Korea market starting December 14.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019): Specifications and Features

As far as the specifications are concerned, both the 13.3-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 Pen (2019) model come packed with a Full HD resolution screens. On the hardware front, the Notebook is powered by Intel's 8th-generation Core i7 processor, paired with Intel UHD graphics/ Nvidia GeForce MX150 (2GB). Additionally, the Notebooks come paired with 16GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.

The Notebook 9 Pen (2019) comes with several connectivity options like 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, and 1x USB Type-C port. The Notebook also comes with a headphone/mic combo jack, and additionally, there’s also a UFS/microSD card combination jack. In addition, the Notebook also packs connectivity options like gigabit 2X2 Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The device includes facial recognition technology, fingerprint recognition, and also an HD IR front-facing camera.

As far as the overall design of the Notebook 9 Pen (2019) is concerned, the device comes with an all-metal aluminium frame. The handset comes in two colour variants including Ocean Blue and Platinum White. The bundled S Pen of the Notebook 9 Pen (2019) as Samsung claims to offer reduced latency up to 2x compared to the other variants launched last year.

Samsung Notebook 9 Pen (2019): Availability

In addition to South Korea, Samsung has announced that the Notebook will be available in other markets too. Although very selective markets. Other markets where the Notebook will retail include — Brazil, China, and Hong Kong. Samsung has also announced that both the 13-inch and 15-inch Notebook 9 Pen (2019) models will also be available in the United States and the tentative timeline could be “early 2019”. As of now, there’s no word for any of the Notebooks to come to India.
