Samsung is long rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 9 smartphone way earlier than the usual release date. However, a new report claims the device will be unveiled in August itself ahead of the IFA 2018, in-line with Samsung’s original schedule of unveiling new Note smartphone every year. Bloomberg reports the upcoming model is likely to be called the Galaxy Note 9 and it will look similar to last year’s Note 8. Everyone expected the design of the Note 9 would be similar to Note 8 because Samsung updates the design of its flagship smartphones for every two years.

The report also added that the smartphone would be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset in some markets and the launch event will be held in New York on August 9. The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was launched on August 23 last year, while the Note 7 was unveiled on August 2 in 2016. The Note 9 is expected to land on August 9 as Samsung wants to release the product at the earliest, but the report added the plans of the company might shift until the very last moment.

Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to arrive with upgraded dual rear cameras at the back. That’s where the report ends. Most probably, Samsung will upgrade the camera sensors on the device and it will add the variable aperture technology used on Galaxy S9+ to the Note 9. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will still come with the trademark S Pen because the Note series is aimed at users looking for a big smartphone.

Other features of the smartphone include Bixby 2.0 which is expected to be much better than the first generation Bixby. The Note 9 will still feature the infamous button on the left side for Bixby and the fingerprint scanner position will most likely be moved below the camera sensors as seen on the Galaxy S9, S9+.

The report further added that Samsung is also working on its smart speaker that works with the help of Bixby. Samsung is looking to venture into the smart speaker market taking on Amazon, Google and Xiaomi.
