Samsung Galaxy A80 With 48MP Rotating Camera, Snapdragon 730 Launched in India for Rs 47,990

Samsung has announced another major phone under its A-series in India. The device that we are talking about is the Samsung Galaxy A80. To recall, the Galaxy A80 first made its appearance in April, and now the phone has been launched in India. Samsung India has announced that the phone will be live for pre-booking from July 22, 2019, to July 31. The Samsung Galaxy A80, like the name suggests, is a device which comes with a more premium flair and hence it packs the Snapdragon 730 SoC, a 3700mAh battery Full HD+ Super AMOLED display and Dolby Atmos support amongst other things. The Samsung Galaxy A80 also boasts of other features like Super Steady Mode and Live Focus videos.




Samsung Galaxy A80 Specifications and Features

The dual-SIM (Nano) Samsung Galaxy A80 will boot Android 9 Pie with One UI on top, and it will feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ rendering a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display on the Samsung Galaxy A80 will be a Super AMOLED 'New Infinity Display' with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone will also boast of an in-display fingerprint sensor. When it comes to performance, the device rocks an octa-core Snapdragon 730G SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Samsung Galaxy A80 comes with 128GB of storage which is not expandable via microSD card. Also, under the hood, the phone packs a 3700mAh battery which supports 25W fast charging.

On the camera and imaging front, the Samsung Galaxy A80 sports a rotating camera setup which also allows it to attain the “infinity display”. The camera setup on the rear of this phone includes the 48MP primary sensor with an f/2.0 lens paired up with an 8MP secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle 123-degree f/2.2 lens. The camera setup also consists of a 3D depth camera along with an IR sensor. Further, when it comes to the selfies, the camera setup of the Galaxy A80 slides up and rotates if the selfie-mode is selected.

Some of the highlighting features of the Samsung Galaxy A80 includes the Super Steady mode which has been claimed to stabilise video footage. The Scene Optimiser feature on the phone will be able to enhance up to 30 scenes. There is also a Flaw Detection feature on-board which can identify glitches before a picture is clicked to deliver enhanced shots. Also owing to the built-in 3D depth camera, the phone can also offer Live Focus still and video results.

Samsung Galaxy A80 Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A80 will retail for a price tag of Rs 47,990 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. In the pre-booking period of July 22, to July 31, the buyers will be able to get a free screen replacement guarantee. There will also be 5% cashback for Citi Bank credit card users. The phone will be available in colour options including Angel Gold, Ghost White, and Phantom Black, and it will compete with the likes of Nokia 9 PureView and OnePlus 7 Pro. The phone will go for live sale in India on August 1, 2019.
