Samsung Galaxy A50s has finally received the much-awaited price cut which everyone has been waiting for. The Galaxy A50s, which was launched as a minor upgrade to the Galaxy A50, saw an increase in the price of Rs 3,000. The Galaxy A50 was launched at Rs 19,990 in India, but the Galaxy A50s was introduced at Rs 22,999 in the Indian market. Just a couple of months after the official launch, the Galaxy A50s starts retailing at Rs 19,999, which is the original launch price of the Galaxy A50. The 6GB+128GB variant of the Galaxy A50s is now available at Rs 21,999. Alongside the Galaxy A50s, Samsung also slashed the price of Galaxy A30s by Rs 1,000 in India, which brings down the price to Rs 15,999 for the base variant.
Samsung Galaxy A50s Price in India Cut: Should You Buy?
The Galaxy A50s came as a successor to the Galaxy A50 which was the amongst the first smartphones under Rs 20,000 to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy A50 was one of the best-selling smartphones in the first and second quarters of 2019, competing with the likes of Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 6A smartphones.
The Galaxy A50s has a lot going for it. The phone features new design, slightly faster processor and triple camera setup compared to its predecessor. The changes from Samsung were very minimal, but the company has hiked by the price by Rs 3,000, which came as surprise to many. By the time the Galaxy A50s launch, the Galaxy A50's price was reduced and it was retailing for as low as Rs 18,499.
As for the hardware specs, the Galaxy A50s has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display on the front carrying a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and in-display fingerprint scanner. Underneath, it has the Exynos 9611 SoC which comes as a successor to the Exynos 9610 that powered the Galaxy A50. The Galaxy A50s comes in two variants- 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, along with a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 512GB.
The cameras on the Galaxy A50s include 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the phone has a 32MP sensor for clicking selfies and attending video calls. The Galaxy A50s also has a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
The Galaxy A50s falls short of the Redmi Note 8 Pro and even the Realme XT when it comes to processing power and value for money, but it's probably the best Samsung phone you can purchase under Rs 20,000 right now.
Samsung Galaxy A30s Price in India Slashed As Well
Alongside the Galaxy A50s, the South Korean smartphone giant also reduced the price of Galaxy A30s by Rs 1,000 in the sub-continent. The Galaxy A30's 4GB+64GB variant will now be available at Rs 15,999, down from the launch price of Rs 16,999. The new prices are already effective across offline and online stores across the country.
The Galaxy A30s is the successor to the Galaxy A50s and the specs of the smartphone are on par with the Galaxy M30s which was also launched recently. The A30s features a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display and comes powered by the Exynos 7904 chipset. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage with support for storage expansion via microSD card.
The Galaxy A30s has triple camera setup on the back comprising of a primary 25MP sensor, 8MP wide-angle sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. The phone has a 4000mAh battery and 18W fast charging support.
