Reliance Jio GigaTV to Be Helped Immensely By New Trai Regulatory Framework

The Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator, Reliance Jio had announced last year about its upcoming fibre and broadband service, the Reliance Jio GigaFiber. The telecom operator boasted that this would be a revolutionary service providing very high-speed data to the consumers along with landline, DTH service and even smart home services. Currently, we have seen Reliance Jio testing this out in the metro cities and we can expect it to be live in other cities in a few months. However, before the launch of GigaFiber, we have witnessed the rollout of the new tariff regime by Trai which affects a lot of industry players. We have reasons to believe that this new regulatory framework might pave a very smooth path for the rollout of Reliance Jio GigaFiber service that bundles Jio GigaTV service as well.

High-Speed Broadband Accessible on TV

The FTTH service by Reliance Jio is undoubtedly going to be the most significant greenfield fixed-line broadband service globally, and with the help of the Reliance Jio GigaTV set-top-box, subscribers will be able to enjoy high-speed internet right from their TV screens. The GigaFiber service will also boast of speeds like 1Gbps which will allow viewers to stream even 360-degree videos in 4K resolution at times.

TV With Voice Commands

Reliance Jio GigaFiber and GigaTV will bring onboard services which have been previously unheard of in the segment. Although there have been a few voice-command based set-top boxes in the industry for the subscribers, the Reliance Jio GigaTV set-top-box will allow you full control via voice commands wherein you will be able to surf between 600 channels and other content offerings from Reliance Jio through its applications.

Calling on Your TV Via Reliance Jio GigaTV

Going a step ahead with its offerings, Reliance Jio GigaTV will allow calling feature for its subscribers. Once you are subscribed to the service, you will be able to make calls to your friends, or family on any mobile, tablet, or another GigaFiber based TV. These calls will be routed from your TV only, and you will have the comfort of connecting with your loved ones right from the screen in front of you.

Two in One Combined Service

The biggest advantage of subscribing to Reliance Jio GigaFiber is that it will club two services into one. DTH and broadband are two services which have become almost mandatory in any household, and by offering both of these two under a single bill, Reliance Jio is making things easier for the subscribers. While the GigaFiber will be its FTTH service providing high-speed internet, the Jio GigaTV will be its STB which will provide DTH content to the subscribers.
